TMJ PHYSIOTHERAPY
Relieve jaw pain.
Physiotherapy for jaw pain, stiffness, clicking and difficulty with movement—focused on improving function and helping you get back to everyday activities with greater comfort.

WHAT IS TMJ PHYSIOTHERAPY?
Understanding your jaw and how it moves.
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) connects your jawbone to your skull and works with the surrounding muscles to help you speak, chew and yawn. When the joint or surrounding tissues become irritated or are not moving comfortably, symptoms such as pain, stiffness, clicking or difficulty opening the jaw can occur.
TMJ physiotherapy assesses jaw movement along with the surrounding muscles and neck to identify factors that may be contributing to your symptoms. Treatment is then tailored to improve movement, reduce irritation and help restore comfortable jaw function.

Address Muscle & Joint Factors
Treatment may focus on the jaw joint, chewing muscles and neck when these areas are contributing to pain, tension or altered jaw movement.
Improve Control & Reduce Irritation
Individualized exercises, education and strategies for activities such as chewing, clenching or prolonged jaw positions can help improve control and reduce repeated irritation.
